Run Off Election for Position 1

The City of Plum Grove has to coordinate their run-off with Montgomery County and Liberty County.

The election will be on June 24, 2023, with early voting dates from Monday, June 12, through Friday, June16, and on Tuesday, June 20. June 19th is a holiday, and no voting will take place on that day.

Qualifications for Mayor or Councilmember

In order to be eligible to run for an elective city office, an individual must
have resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the territory from which the office is elected for six months immediately preceding the date of the regular filing deadline for an application for a place on the ballot. Tex. Elec. Code §1.005(9); §141.001(a)(5)(B). A write-in candidate must have resided continuously in the territory from which the office is elected for six months immediately preceding the date of the election. Id. §141.001(a)(5)(C). An appointee to an elective office must have resided
continuously in the state for 12 months and in territory from which the office is elected for six months immediately preceding the date the appointment is made. Id. §141.001(a)(5)(E).

The preliminary notice indicates that there are 11 provisionals to be reviewed and 10 mail-in ballots that have a small window for the voter to correct the defect. So the votes will not be official for canvass until those are done this week.

This means no positions will change until next months meeting
